The venture includes handling the marketing and distribution of Antigua Brewery products. And what of the future and plans for the business?

Bringing all of the companies under one umbrella is definitely in the pipeline, Irving said, adding that he and Dion are spearheading this move.

"I see us, once we establish the merger, moving into other avenues that members of the family can manage. In this way, anyone who brings something

substantial to the table can come under the umbrella," said. Irving, who is also a director and founder of the ABIB Group of Companies.

ther members of the family believe that exporting is the way to go. "I think the main thing is that we keep it as a family business," Donna said. "We have employees, but they feel they are a part of the family. Also when the public hears about Kennedy's I want them to think of more than just rum."

That perception would be a very narrow one, however, given the company's tradition of generosity. To recognize the 40th anniversary of Kennedy's Club, this year, the company will be renovating the sports complex in Liberta, from whence they came, to the tune of $35,000. 'rhis past Carnival, the business donated in excess of $100,000 to the festivities. Other donations over the years have included more than $50,000 to the Antigua Football Association for its Big Six programme, $25,000 to golfing events and other sizeable and regular contributions to organized bodies, including the athletics, basketball and cricket associations, community groups, and events.

In addition, the Club has a Christmas tradition that began several years ago. "Customers used to say they 'want their Christmas,' and things weren't so good back then; and I finally said, 'Anybody ask, just tell them to come home for dinner.' We have had an open house from then up to now," Pauline said, detailing last year's spread, which included 90 pounds of chicken, tWo goats and four turkeys.

For the past three years, Donna and Denise have also entered 'the home-lighting Christmas competition, and that has evolved to the point where the family sets up .a tent and everyone is welcome to stop by for dinner and drinks on Christmas Day into the night.
